Orion’s Naturals CBD

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol or CBD is a non-psychoactive chemical compound –

meaning it won't alter a person's mental state – that can come

from two different cannabis plants: The hemp plant (with less

than 0.3 percent THC present) or marijuana plant (where

there's much more psychoactive THC). Orion’s Naturals CBD is

100% THC-free and sourced from the industrial hemp plant.

Since it’s discovery in 1940, CBD has been used for its ever-

growing range of therapeutic benefits. Research has shown

positive results in which CBD has aided with the following

conditions:

  • Stress, anxiety and depression

  • Insomnia

  • Digestion and appetite issues

  • Inflammation

  • Nausea and vomiting

  • Troubles concentrating

  • Pain

  • Autoimmune disease

  • Cancer

  • Glaucoma

  • Epileptic seizures

  • PTSD

How does CBD work?

When someone takes CBD, the compound goes into your system and to the endocannabinoid system (ECS) which is made up of receptors throughout the body and brain. There are two types of endocannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are found in the brain and nervous system playing a role in regulating memory, mood, sleep, appetite and pain. CB2 receptors are found in immune cells and are responsible for CBD’s anti-inflammatory effects.

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS), named after the plant that led to its discovery, is perhaps the most important physiologic system involved in establishing and maintaining human health. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) plays a very interesting and varied role within the body. At its most basic, the

endocannabinoid system is a huge network of cannabinoid receptors which are spread through the body. The human endocannabinoid system releases cannabinoids that interact with receptors found in virtually all of the tissues in our bodies. You can also take in phyto-cannabinoids (CBD) in addition to those compounds that your body produces to help boost this system. The role of the endocannabinoid system is to bring balance to our tissues, including the heart, digestive, endocrine, immune, nervous, and reproductive systems. In short, it’s working to keep you in neutral. Neutral means different things in different areas of your body, which is possibly one of the very best things about the compound – it can have a different impact on different receptors in your body.

Is CBD legal?

marijuana and hemp are both members of the cannabis family, so they do share a lot of characteristics. There is, however, a crucial difference between the two–the amount of psychoactive Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) each plant produces. While marijuana can contain up to 30% THC, hemp contains no more than 0.3% THC. In other words, marijuana can get you really high, while hemp has such a low amount of THC, that it would be impossible to get high off it.

Because hemp has no psychoactive effects, the law has no problem with it. Hemp products are completely legal and available in all types of different industries and stores across America. Marijuana, on the other hand, is much a different story. And this is why the source of a CBD product is crucial to its legality. If we’re talking about hemp-derived CBD, then the answer is yes. Now, the keyword here is “hemp-derived.” Because CBD from hemp has no psychoactive effects, the purchase, sales, or possession of hemp CBD products are completely legal in all 50 States. Because hemp is sometimes confused with the marijuana plant, there is still some stigma towards hemp- derived CBD, but from a legal perspective, hemp-derived CBD is completely legal and enjoys the rights of any other legal product.
